Jeff gets a bike
Jeff gets a Trek Pilot 5.0 bicycle.
The title pretty much says it all, over the weekend I got a bicycle at Cool Breeze Cyclery in Mooresville, NC. No, it's nothing like the boat my sister and her husband purchased but it should provide the same enjoyment for the family since I'll be out of the house! Hopefully in a couple months I'll be able to join my neighbors on their ~25 mile rides around the Huntersville/Davidson area.
I thought about getting a mountain bike (less costly) but in the end decided on purchasing a road bike. The ultimate choice came down to a Trek 2100, 5000, Pilot 2.1, and Pilot 5.0 in about that order. Honeslty the Pilot 5.0 wasn't even being considered until it was determined the Trek 5000 frame just wasn't right for me. They didn't have a Pilot 2.1 58cm frame available for sizing so he pulled out the Trek Pilot 5.0 which is the same frame. What a difference, even JoEllen noticed I wasn't having to struggle which I personally didn't observe until trying the Pilot. We had a quick discussion and I received the all import wife approval to purchase in the Pilot 5.0 instead of waiting a week for the Pilot 2.1.
As is to be expected, the day I picked up the bike (final adjustments were done, etc) it rained, and rained, and rained......
